How to Make Natural Lip Balm
EQUIPMENT
- Measuring Spoons
- Glass Bowl
- Small Cooking Pot
- Mason Jar any size is fine
- Wooden or Metal Spoon
- Lip Balm Containers or Tubes
- Lip Balm Tray Kit optional
INGREDIENTS
- 2 tbsp Coconut Oil
- 2 tbsp Shea Butter
- 2 tbsp Beeswax Pellets
- 1 tsp Almond Oil can use Olive Oil instead
- 1/4 tsp Vitamin E Oil
- 5-10 drops Essential Oils optional
INSTRUCTIONS
- Start by measuring out all your ingredients. If you’re using a lip balm tray kit, place the tubes into the tray now.
- Fill the cooking pot halfway with water and place it over medium-low heat. Put the glass bowl on top of the pot to create a double boiler.
- Add the coconut oil, shea butter, beeswax, almond oil, and vitamin E oil into the bowl, stirring occasionally until everything has fully melted (about 10 minutes).
- Once everything has melted into a smooth liquid, remove the bowl from the heat.
- Optional: Add your chosen essential oils to the mixture and stir well.
- Carefully pour the melted mixture into a mason jar to cool for a couple of minutes. Then, pour the liquid into your lip balm tubes or containers. If you’re using a tray kit, you can simply pour it into each tube.
- Allow the lip balm to cool and harden for about an hour. Once set, cap the tubes and store them in a cool, dry place.
